Grace morning on this splendid and sufficient Saturday.
Have you ever been tossed around in a storm, shaken to your very core, abused, and battered? When presented with all these trials in life—one after another—you find strength to stand again, rise up, and move out of all the turmoil, burden, but blessed. There is a side to suffering you miss when you focus solely on your pain rather than on God’s greater purpose. If you can see the purpose behind the pain, you can find the way out of this lie. If your suffering won’t go away, it might as well go to work. Hard times have the capacity to deepen your faith and the faith of those around you. And when you submit your situation to God, he can strengthen you to keep standing in spite of your struggles. You can learn when suffering humbles you and forces you to pay attention to the work the Holy Spirit is doing inside of you.God uses this method to knock off the rough edges.
“The sun came up as he left Peniel, limping because of his hip. (This is why Israelites to this day don’t eat the hip muscle; because Jacob’s hip was thrown out of joint.)”
Genesis 32:31-32 MSG
