Grace morning on this fresh and fruitful Friday.
In life people don’t have to be quiet for you to reach your potential. They may keep spreading lies, slandering, putting you in a bad light, but they cannot stop your purpose. They don’t have that much power. If you don’t understand this principle, you’ll live upset, thinking of ways you can shut them down. Don’t let the offense, the bitterness, the poison get in you. You do your part, and God will do his part. He’ll take care of your reputation. And sometimes he’ll stop the negative things from being said, and vindicate you. Other times he’ll let them keep talking, keep stirring things up. He makes them ineffective. They’re trying to discredit you. What they said, what they did, should have caused others to look down on you, should have kept you from that promotion, close doors, but God took away all the sting, he took away all the power. Now they’re just a bunch of irrelevant noise, nobody that matters pays any attention to them.
“Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end up realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath. It’s better to suffer for doing good, if that’s what God wants, than to be punished for doing bad.”
