Grace morning on this serene and seismic Sunday.
When life is really going bad for you, it doesn’t do any good to pray for something and then go talk about how it’s probably not going to happen. Don’t cancel out your prayer with negative talk. “We prayed for my finances, I don’t know though, do you see the news? The economy is rough, pandemic set me back, I don’t see how I can get ahead.” You can’t pray for victory and talk defeat. When you believe that you received, then it’s a different mindset, it’s not “I hope it’s going to work out”, there’s a knowing. When we ask in faith, when you receive it into your spirit, you can be confident that in the unseen realm something shifts, favor is set into motion, angels are dispatched. It’s not I wonder “If it’s going to happen”, no, it’s “When is it going to happen”. I am confident in the God we serve that he is faithful, that what he started he will bring to pass.
“When the disciples had Jesus off to themselves, they asked, “Why couldn’t we throw it out?” “Because you’re not yet taking God seriously,” said Jesus. “The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.””
